Description
What is the 14-Day Gut Detox?
It’s a natural way to repair and heal the gut by using herbs, intermittent fasting, and gut-friendly foods.
The Importance of a Clean Gut
Many people believe it’s normal to experience symptoms like gas, bloating, and constipation, but it is indeed not. All three are your gut’s way of informing you that something is wrong, despite what we have been taught. We have two brains. The gut is your first brain, serving as the main operating system of the body. Your brain up top is your second brain. If your gut isn’t functioning properly, your brain up top can’t function properly, and your body has a high percentage of developing diseases. That’s why it is important to cleanse your gut at least twice a year.
The gut is very important and affects many things in the body, such as clear skin, brain function, energy level, and all diseases. The body is composed of 102 minerals. We obtain those minerals from the food we intake. If we fail to intake mineral-rich foods, our body isn’t receiving the minerals it needs to function proper- ly. Also, foods that lack minerals clog the intestinal tract (gut). When the intestinal tract is clogged, bowel movements become irregular, and if it is not coming out of you, it is staying in you. Toxins from the build-up of waste in the body start to spread in search of another exit, which creates body and facial acne, gassi- ness, bloating, lack of energy, and becomes the breeding ground for disease.
Can I work out while detoxing?
Yes, you can work out during the detox, but always be sure to listen to your own body.
When is the best time to work out while detoxing?
It’s recommended to work out during fasting. That way, your body will burn more fat instead of sugar from your meal. Opening the sea moss capsules and mixing the powder with water before your workout is recommended for energy. It is up to you if you would prefer to work out closer to the time you break your fast or not. It is also not recommended to take detox capsules within an hour before your workout because the detox capsules will start to flush your gut. Consistent movement may speed up the action of the detox capsules and interrupt your workout. If you are a person who is used to eating before your workout, you may want to work out after you break your fast. Also, remember the body will adjust to whatever you consistently do. So, you may want to train your system to work out while fasting, but as always, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. If you try a fasted workout and become lightheaded and need to break your fast, DO SO with a piece of fruit or a date.

• Eat your first meal every day at 12 pm (You may adjust your start and end time you eat every day to fit your schedule. Just be sure to keep it consistent and within 6 hours.)
• Meal prep your meals at the beginning of each week, not daily, to avoid making bad decisions.
• Complete all 14 days consistently.
• Some form of daily meditation, walks outside, connecting to nature, or something for relaxation is recom- mended.
What is Intermittent Fasting?
Intermittent fasting is when you eat during a specific period and fast the rest of the time. There are several different types of intermittent fasting. The one you will be completing is known as 18:6. You skip breakfast and drink only water and tea till noon. (NOTHING ELSE! It will break your fast!) This simple hack keeps you in a fasted state. Then you nourish your body with healthy foods for 6 hours (NOT NONSTOP EATING!). Your last meal will be no later than 6 pm. After 6 pm, you will only drink water and tea (No added sweeteners) for the next 18 hours; that will lead you to 12 pm the next day. Fasting drains your body of its glucose reserves, its main energy source from food. Without glucose, you switch over to burning fat for fuel in a process called ketosis. Also, your body can focus on healing itself instead of digesting food.
Why Low Carbs?
By eliminating starchy carbs and only intake carbohydrates from fruit and vegetables, your digestive system will be less stressed and can focus on healing itself. You will not have consistent spikes in your insulin. That will help your body maintain a more stable blood sugar level. By maintaining a more stable blood sugar level, your body will burn more fat.
Why No meat?
Meat causes your insulin levels to spike. This spike in your insulin levels will cause an increase in your glucose level, which, in return, will cause your body to store fat.
